February 15, 201016 yr Hey all, I'm thinking of upgrading my server due to fact that I'm not really satisfied with my board (Asus P5K which has a few sata connectors that broke off).. and I was thinking of picking up a cheap LGA 1156 board (Newegg has a nice Gigabyte board for 94$) and the Core i3-530 CPU which is an amazing power saver (compared to this E6500) is only about 110$.. I haven't found any posts regarding any new Core i3/i5/i7 or LGA 1156 testing and I'm very curious to see if anyone has tempted it. Btw.. here's the board: http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128420
February 15, 201016 yr I'll be doing some testing on a socket LGA1156 H55 board later this week with an i3-530, including power draw information. I have comparison data from various hardware configurations, including Atom based boards and other chipsets. Will post results in this thread: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5076.165 This is the board I will be using for the test: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131623
February 17, 201016 yr Initial results are posted for the Core i3 system here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5076.msg49964#msg49964 I'm very impressed so far.
