Allow external users to backup data to unRaid?

Featured Replies

Hey All,

I am working on setting up my first unraid server, just waiting for new HDD's to arrive.  Is there an easy way that I could allow select family/friends to backup their important data to my server?  It is already on anyway so why not right?

Anyone use own cloud?  Is this possible through that?  Just want it to be simple for them to use. I would only want them to be able to access their files.  Maybe BTSync?

Thanks in advance!

It is easy to get unRAID acting as an oneCloud (or nextCloud) server if that is the service you want..  There are Docker containers available to set unRAID to act like this.

Yeah I did see the docker.  Just looking for more of a suggestion on the easiest way of gettting something setup to say allow my sister to backup photos to my server

There are a couple of CrashPlan dockers available as well. CP will do a silent, constant backup in the background, and you can backup to a "friend" for free - nobody has to have an account with them.
