Unable to assign cache devices after HBA migration...

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I've purchased a bunch of HP H240 HBAs (and set the mode to HBA with "balanced" power settings) and I wondering what would it take to migrate the array from one HBA (let's say SAS2108) to HP H240?

I did a quick test and the sata drives were detected OK and were assigned to their respective positions, however the two cache drives that I have (patriot 240gb ssd) were appearing as unassigned. And when I attempted to re-assign them - the page was getting refreshed and the drives stayed unassigned...

Has anybody performed similar operation before when migrating between HBAs?

Thank you,

- ezhik.

OK so this is annoying... I am attempting to mount cache drives to the migrated hba and it is not getting anywhere...

I select a cache devices, the page refreshes and it still says "no device"

Thoughts?

Try connecting the SSDs to motherboard SATA ports.

  • Author

That's not a bad idea. But motherboard ports are only sata 2.

  • Author

That's interesting. I connected the drives to the motherboard and it worked...

Why isn't it working with H240? All the other drives are assigned correctly?

  • Author

Getting read errors now from the drives conneted to H240...

Possible to take a look at the proper support for HP H240 HBA please?

Going to try latest 6.3.0 RC tonight.

Cheers.

Nope. 6.3.0-RC3 did not work either.
