970 GPU Passthrough on pci x16?

I looked around the forums via the search bar, not too much regarding this issue I am having with the GPU passthrough on my windows 10 VM. I followed this tutorial to get it useable with the dumped rom file (found here

).

 

So far the devicemanager see it as installed and I think it's working correctly.

 

However this is worked while the card is on the pci x8 slot, not the pci x16 slot on my motherboard. Is this fine or should I try any use the x16 slot with an unraid vm?

 

I also tried setting it up to also use the vnc driver since I wanted to connect via the web interface as well for some test and the devicemanager appeared to work well, nothing of concern.

 

I tried a test to stream to another desktop, using Splashtop, and it was very bad experience, so much so that it said the remote computer (on the same lan) might not have enough video memory to play. I tried another less intensive game, and it was running very poorly. I also tried to use my Steam Link for "pseudo headless streaming" and it poorly worked.

 

Could I increase how much video memory is being used for the win10 vm, or is there additional configurations I need to do to make this streamable for the games I have?
