February 17, 201016 yr hello world -- so far so good with my nas. via some other postings on the unraid forums, i've discovered the existence of 'htop' and 'iftop'. i installed 'htop' rather easily (the link to an installable package was available), but i've yet to get iftop onto my unraid server. i'd *really* like to get iftop onto my box to ensure no lout has snuck in. that would be even more valuable to me than having 'htop'. anyways, and it shows that slackware is not my 'port of calling' distro-wise, is there an archive that one could get the proper .tgz file for 'iftop', that could be installed with a simple 'installpkg' command? cheers.
February 17, 201016 yr Source: http://www.ex-parrot.com/~pdw/iftop/download/ SlackBuild: http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13.0/network/iftop/ Compiled Slackware Package: http://code.google.com/p/unraid-weebotech/downloads/list Hope this helps. It's a little big. I compiled it statically so it is not dependent on other libs. This should help it survive other upgrades.

Here yo go... http://www2.linuxpackages.net/packages/Slackware-12.0/Console/iftop/iftop-0.17-i486-1kan.tgz A bit smaller, since it is dynamically compiled.
February 17, 201016 yr Weebotechs package can be installed, I can run iftop, but it terminates after soe seconds with "segmentation fault" JoeLs Link is dead for me. All this tried on 4.5.0 Syslogentry: Feb 17 13:09:33 TOWER kernel: iftop[11200]: segfault at 0 ip (null) sp b6d54ae8 error 14 in iftop[8048000+ed000]
February 17, 201016 yr I just clicked the link I posted, and it works for me here. Perhaps try a "right-click" and then save as a file.
February 17, 201016 yr Joe L's link worked, my compiled version segfaults too, so use Joe's. Not sure what is wrong perhaps it does not like to be statically compiled. I'll take mine down since there is another version around.
February 17, 201016 yr I just clicked the link I posted, and it works for me here. Perhaps try a "right-click" and then save as a file. I had to go via the downloadpage - maybe problem was caused by proxy (got 500 error). Package works fine, Thanks!
February 21, 201016 yr Author hello -- so i finally installed iftop from joe.l (?? never type a reply before your first cup on a sunday morning...), and it works beautifully. i wish i had this tool when i was managing my vaxen back in the day. thanks for all the fish^Wreplies and the help. probable next steps will be to try to secure it and replacing my 500gb drives with 1tb green ones (end total 5+1 1tb green drives)... but not today, as i am trying to finish these renos. that looked so much easier on tv, where everything can be done in ~52 minutes (unless you watch "this old house") and appears to never cost anything... oh, well. ;-)
