SSH instead of telnet?

Featured Replies

I was really surprised that unRAID used telnet - didn't think anything used that anymore as it is very insecure. Is there any hope of at least adding an ssh server to unRAID?

This is quite easy to do yourself using the standard slackware openssh packages.

Get unmenu up and running on your server and use the packages install page to get the openssh package running on your server.

Yeah, I have unraid on a full Slackware install now so I have ssh running and many other things that I want to use on it as well.

Install ssh through unMenu 1.3.

However unRAID was designed for home use and to be run behind a firewall so there a lot of other security holes (that actually doesn't matter to home users).
