Replacing hardware

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am new to unRAID still using trail version, I am done setting up server and everything seems to be working ok. Currently I have:

1 Parity drive

2 data drives

1 Cache drive

I want to replace my mobo with ASUS M5A78L-M+USB3 AM3+ MATX and AMD FX8730E processor and I have follwoing questions:

1. If motherboard is compatible running linux/unraid?

2. If it is compatible then is there anything I need to do in unraid before replacing it?

3. Will my data stay intact in existing drives, I am planning to use same drives.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Nick

All you have to do is connect your drives to the new system and boot to the USB flash drive => everything will work exactly the same.

Thank you garycase. What about mobo comptibility?

Not a problem.  The only likely issue with motherboards is an unsupported NIC ... and the one you noted has a Realtek NIC, which isn't a problem.
