Hi!

I don't get any driver loaded for my new USB3 card VIA Technologies, Inc. VL805 USB 3.0 Host Controller.

There are lots of places this device is discussed and it appears to be problematic.

You can try this:

https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=214293

But you have to disable iommu, which means no VM's.

Probably better to get a higher quality device or wait until kernel comes out with a fix.  Are you using unRAID-next?  We keep that kernel on cutting edge.

Thanks for info, but I need my VM:s :-)

I'm on 6.3.0-rc4, I assume this is unRAID-next ?

First I hope it is ok to breath life in a dead thread.

My reason is I have similar card, and I see it is close to 1½ year since it was discussed. I want to ask if there ever was a solution, or if this card just don't work? (I need IOMMU too as I have consolidated 3 desktop in the family to this one unRAID)

It looks like this has been fixed now. I forgot to remove the card from my test machine. And only when I did system device check for another thing I noticed this card popping up. I plugged in a USB2 storage device and unRAID showed it as an usable device. I have not made a thorough test yet, but it looks like this chip is usable. :)
