Array Started with Unmountable Disk soon after upgrade

Featured Replies

unfortunately for me I believe I have gone ahead and blitzed any chance of recovering data from disk2 which became unmounted after an upgrade reboot...

I have read through this Topic: [6.2.4] Array Started with Unmountable Disks

and it is similar to my experience in that the array started (from memory) with disk2 gone

What I would like to understand and could not clearly deduce from my logs was what actually occurred and in what order.

I stupidly formatted the disk from the gui - thinking ( in my ignorance and lack of reading documentation ) that I would then recover the lost data from the parity disk ....

Oh well now I know for next time I encounter an unmountable disk  8)
