very strange low speed transfers

Featured Replies

i currently have a problem with transferring items from my unraid server be that moving or even watching videos on my android box.

if i copy a file from a share using the server name as the location e.g. \\tower\media\ then i get low speeds of about 10mb/s. if i use the address \\10.0.0.2\media\ then the speed starts off at 100mb/s and then lowers to about 60mb/s

what could be causing such a thing. the server has a static ip and is currently using the same dns server as the rest of my network
