Server unresponsive

Featured Replies

Hello fellow unraiders I am in need of some expert help.  I have been using unraid for a while now and has been running with no problems for a couple of years. A few months ago my entire pc died on me,  after testing each component found the motherboard died possibly due to the power supply unit.  Hard drives still reports to be OK with no errors.  Managed to get hold of a pc which belonged to my brother.  Took the motherboard,  RAM, power supply and built a new machine got my unraid backup and running again,  updated the unraid to the current version.

The problem I am facing is that the server runs for a short while, can access gui and all shares.  Then all of a sudden it just stops, cannot access gui and the server shares,  I have to then hold down the power button to turn it off.

Can anyone advise me what's happening and possibly how I could fix this?

Many thanks

Have you done a memtest?

Trurl,

I haven't but this was a working machine that my brother used everyday for several years, I built it for him if memory serves me right.

Can you tell me how I can do a memory test?

Many thanks

A memory test is one of the boot options when you boot off the unRAID USB stick.  It's good to do a long test - minimum of 4-8 hours and up to 24 if you can.
