Windows 10 partions

Featured Replies

Ok three easy questions about Windows 10 and partions.

1. Can Windows 10 make partions, I haven't used Windows in years to do this.  I'm a Mac guy trying to help a friend.

2. If you make two partions on one external drive they will show up as two different drives correct?

3.  Any special options I should choose?

Yes, you can create partitions and assign logical drive letters to them.

Just go to Disk Management -- right-click on "This PC", select Manage, then click on Disk Management.

If you are restructuring a disk, you'll likely want to first delete all of the partitions on the disk (THIS WILL DESTROY ALL DATA ON THE DISK);  then you just right-click in the unallocated space; right-click; and create a new volume.    You can name it, assign a drive letter, etc.
