December 1, 20169 yr i currently have a problem where i create a folder e.g. for a new tv show, i can copy over the files perfectly fine but when i come to delete anything that i have copied over it says i do not have permission as only user/sshd or user/nobody has permissions to delete the file. the share is set up so that it is a public folder that is exported but every file that gets copied to the array from my windows 10 machine changes the permissions on files and folders so that sshd is basically the owner and everybody else has only read permissions. what can i do to stop this happening to all my files as i cant go through every file and folder changing the permissions using mc
December 1, 20169 yr Community Expert Check in the Credential manager on your windows computer and see if there are any credentials for the server listed. If there are, many folks have found that deleting them will often fix these types of issues.
December 1, 20169 yr Author think i may have found the problem, i am copying the files from the downloads folder to the media folder. it appears that linuxserver/deluge is downloading the files and then changing the permissions on the files to nobody so when i copy them i am also copying the permissions from the original to the copied. not sure how i would stop deluge from changing permissions on downloaded files though, im just searching a fix for this now
