Importing Windows Raid

Featured Replies

Good evening

is it possible to import a windows raid , to unraid without losing any of the files?

What do you mean when you say windows raid? Is this a raid using dynamic disks or a regular raid one or five?

I don't think its possible with unRAID, you will have to just copy your data over to your new unRAID server.

windows raid as in a raid created in windows

but yea dynamic disks

I'd guess Windows RAID uses NTFS and Linux is not NTFS so you would have to import the data from NTFS into a file system that unRAID reads.

reiserFS, XFS and so forth.

Only a Windows box can recognize dynamic disks/dynamic volumes.

You will have to have your Windows box running to get the files off of it and onto the unRAID box.
