After starting Array Web GUI no longer accessible, SSH works

Featured Replies

I'm pre clearing 4TB drives and startet an test array with 3 1TB disks without parity.

As soon as I clicked start the array. the web GUI became unresponsive and I'm no longer able to get anything using the browser.

Ping: OK

SSH: OK

TOP shows preclear is still doing it's job (for at least 12 more hours)

How do i restart the web server from the SHH console?

I don't want to reboot the server to avoid the preclear to rerun ;)

searching the board was not answering my question :(

Thanks a lot :)

Are you using the preclear script or plugin?

If script WebGUI will come back when the preclears finish.

Not sure why the web GUI is not responding - maybe the preclears are bottle-necking your system so that starting the array will take much longer than normal. You may well have had better joy if you had started the array before starting the preclears?

The web GUI is not restartable so you only choices are to wait to see if the GUI eventually responds; abort the preclear; or hard-reset the system.

Ok then I'll get out and will enjoy the sun  8)

Using top. on the console shows the preclear tasks and I've found the log files for the finished jobs... All good for now

I guess that even a 10k Passmark CPU on an modern server board can have some sort of a bottleneck  :P

Thanks for the hint. Gives me hours of not troubleshooting :)
