problems with windows 7 backup

Featured Replies

I have my windows 7 system set to backup to a path on my unRAID NAS (\\storagetower\backups\nightlyBackups\BlairOffice\).  It has worked well for months now and for the past week or so, every night when it tries to run i get a popup saying that there was a problem.  when i click for details it says:

"the system cannot open the file.

Error code: 0x80070004"

a [ur=http://blogs.msdn.com/joshpoley/pages/errors-007-facility-win32.aspxl]web search[/url] turned up the fact that error code 0x80070004 means "ERROR_TOO_MANY_OPEN_FILES".

in the past i have gotten an error when copying files that woudl say too many files open.  it woudl seem to happen at random but always when copying files to or from the unraid server and usually a stop and a start of the array woudl fix it.  but every night when i get this error i stop and start the array (I have even tried rebooting my unraid server) and every night the problem persists.

why do i keep having this problem?
