December 7, 20169 yr Hi all! I had been experiencing some issues with my Unraid 6.24 server for the last few weeks (pretty much since I updated actually to the latest build). This included: Web gui crashing then restarting VMs crashing Plex and all other web GUIs for my dockers crashing Then last night I went to use one of my VMs which has a gpu passed through and it became really slow, then just crashed. I went to check the server and it would not respond to the web GUI and all dockers had crashed BUT I could ssh into it. I rebooted the server and hoped it would come back up. Upon booting up it got to the login section, then blurted out a row of network errors saying lots of command errors: nohup: redirecting stderr to stdout /var/local/emhttp/network.ini: line1: [eth0]: command not found /var/local/emhttp/network.ini: line16: DESCRIPTION:0=: command not found /var/local/emhttp/network.ini: line17: USE_DHCP:0=no: command not found /var/local/emhttp/network.ini: line18: IPADDR:0=192.168.0.[xx]: command not found /var/local/emhttp/network.ini: line19: NETMASK:0=255.255.255.0: command not found then about 5 seconds later the console would lock up and all I could do was hard power-off! I made a new usb install and booted it up and everything was fine so I know its not a hardware issue. I also replaced the original USBs network config files with new ones and the server could connect to the network and I got access to the GUI but the server is still really unstable. So my question is what files do I need to take from the original USB and move to the new USB so I can have my server back up and running without losing any dockers, plugins or config? Thanks, i'm really stressed about this as I rely on my server daily.. In future I will remember to make USB config backups PS. I have also attached a diagnostics zip if that helps solve any issues! tower-diagnostics-20161207-0924.zip
December 7, 20169 yr Number one thing I would do first is run a long Memtest, a few hours at least, or until the first error. It may be something else, but you HAVE to know you can trust your RAM. If no memory issues, see this page for help with the files on the flash drive -> Files on v6 boot drive By the way, your data is probably fine, just a hardware or configuration issue.
December 7, 20169 yr Author Great thanks! Yes all my data is fine, I have repaired the USB now but I will run a memtest in a little bit. I have 32gb of Corsair DDR4 2400Mhz Ram. Thanks again!
