Shared folder permissions problem - server IP

Hi all,

 

I seem to have a problem with accessing my shared folders which are set to private. When I browse my shares on Windows 10 with IP address, the username and password is not accepted. I have cleared Windows credential manager and still no go. However if I browse my shares by DNS name, username and password is accepted. Is there anyway for me to access private shares with IP instead of DNS? Thanks.

    This post is describing the issue pretty comprehensive.

    I guess the credentials were not totally purged with the credentials manager.
