December 12, 20169 yr Community Expert Alright so if irrformat it all I have to do is reassign it? It can only be formatted after it has been assigned, it's already assigned as cache, you only need to click the format button after the array is started. Also I have this issue which started happening after this problem. Basically whenever the server shuts down I need to login to the unRaid GUI every time. Before this issue it would automatically login using regular unRaid what can I do to fix that issue as well? Was it caused by this problem I'm having? Don't understand what you mean.
December 12, 20169 yr Author If I was to restart my server aka shut it completely down then turn it back on. UnRaid does it's regular posting then there is a screen that is up for about 5 seconds that gives me an option to choose from which are: unraid unraid GUI unraid safe mode Not choosing anything just chooses option unRaid then it starts asking for me to login with username and password.
December 12, 20169 yr Author I suppose I never noticed it. Maybe I haven't had a neeed to restart my server in months but I thought I didn't need to type a password at all.
December 12, 20169 yr Community Expert You don't, your shares, dockers, etc work without login in, and you can access the GUI using any other computer or device.
December 12, 20169 yr Author Yea that's what I always have been doing but ever since this issue that took place I couldn't get any access from other pcs which forced me to put a monitor on the server to see what was going on. I'll try to see if it still happens after reformatting. Thanks for all your help.
December 12, 20169 yr Community Expert If you have set a root password, then the webUI will ask for it. Access to network shares is unrelated to webUI access, and is controlled by each shares settings.
December 13, 20169 yr Author is it better to use a btrfs or xfs when using cache. i was reading the wiki and it seems like using btrfs has a lot of drawbacks with the lack of fixing errors. can i just use xfs for the cache disk instead?
December 13, 20169 yr You can use XFS for a single cache disk, but must use BTRFS if you want to have a cache pool.
December 13, 20169 yr Author thanks i remember reading that on the wiki. since i only have 1 cache disk ill just go with xfs.
