December 12, 20169 yr Is there anything I can do right now to fix this, I do not have another USB drive for some reason on hand. I have a new one on order from amazon that I specifically purchased for unraid but it isn't coming until friday. I have also deleted my key and tried to replace the key but get an error. Everything else I have tried has ended up with everything but purchase a new key greyed out. syslog.txt
December 12, 20169 yr Author I actually have 2 USB drives and think both are for some reason blacklisted...
December 12, 20169 yr How did you come by those two keys? Replacing a key for another one blacklists the old key. Also keys are tied to their respective usb drives and can't be freely transferred. I have read of many cases where people purchased keys from other people (not from LimeTech) and those keys were eventually blacklisted (usually because the seller requested a new key thus blacklisting the old).
December 12, 20169 yr Community Expert It is also worth knowing what brand/model the USB keys are. It is a requirement that each USB drive has a unique GUID for it to be suitable for use with unRAID. It is not unknown for a manufacturer (particularly the cheaper ones) to not allocate a unique GUID to each drive, and in such a case the GUID can get blacklisted retrospectively when it is realised that a manufacturer is not allocating unique GUIDs to each drive they make.
December 12, 20169 yr Every new version has an updated blacklist -- so what basically happened is your key was blacklisted, and when you updated to a newer version that blacklist was enforced. As already noted, if you purchased this from a 3rd party, and they did a "key replacement" on the old GUID, that would cause that. Or if you updated your key, the old key was added to the blacklist -- so if you continued to use this for some reason then when you updated the OS it would no longer work. The "fix" is to either send a note to Limetech detailing why you think this is a error in the blacklist; or, if that's not the case, just buy a new key.
