Slow transfer speed from array?

Featured Replies

I'm not sure when this started happening but the read speed from my array is much slower than the drives are capable of. I get about 50MB/s from any drive in the array. If I do a parity sync, it starts at ~200MB/s, and it ends at about ~100MB/s, so it can't be the drives. There is also a 10G network connecting these devices, and I can get ~530MB/s read and writes from the SSD cache, so it can't be the network. It's happening in both of my servers, running the latest unRAID version and most of the drives are 70% full at most.

Any idea what causing this? Both servers running specs in signature.

Forgot to add, besides adding max protocol = SMB2_02 to the SMB extra settings make sure direct_IO is enable (settings -> global share settings)

Yes, problem affects v6.2.0-beta22 or above.

Hmm that seemed to fix it but now I can't access one of my servers via SMB on the 10g port. I get username/password prompt but nothing happens, I can access the webui using the same port. The other server is fine, same 10g card.

You may need to reboot windows clients to regain access by name, you should still be able to access it by IP.

Scratch that, it started working after a couple minutes.

This is a really strange bug, feel like they should roll back to SMB 2.02. Went from 50MB/s to 120-150MB/s....

Problem is with Samba, not unRAID.
