Every disk in array reports read errors while migrating media collection

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm new around here. Just finished putting together a dual-xeon (e5-2670) Plex host, with 4x 4TB HDD, running UnRaid 6.2.4. I'm not using a parity disk, my content is almost entirely ripped movies and tv, and pure volume is more important than parity at this time.

All 4 disks passed preclear, returned healthy SMART results, and I set up a user share across all 4 drives and started moving my media from my desktop PC running Windows 10. I copy the files to the UnRaid share across my home network... and I keep getting reports of read errors from multiple disks in the array, and sometimes every disk. 'Fix Common Problems' isn't reporting any errors. I captured the diagnostics and syslogs, but I don't know what to look for. The logs are attached.

I would greatly appreciate any help that anyone is willing to give. I've loved UnRaid so far, but I'm about ready to pull my hair out over this one.

Cheers.

Check all disk connections, power and SATA.

Not necessary to post syslog since it is included in diagnostics.

Avoid the Marvell ports, they frequently have issues on those boards, use the Intel PCH ports and your problemns will go away.

THANK YOU! I switched to the Intel ports and that appears to have worked. I appreciate it.
