Unable to see large RAID 5 volume in Array list, but can see it inSystem Devices

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just wondering if someone can help me?

I am running a trial key currently, and i have created two RAID 5 arrays on my controller, one is 8.98TB and the other is 27.9TB.

I cannot however seem to select the 27.9TB RAID volume inside the array configuration area, the 8.98TB volume appears though.

Can anyone assist?

Okay so i just rebooted the box because the whole "Turn it off and on again" approach might work.

Now the large RAID volume shows, but the small one has disappeared...

What's going on? :|

What are you trying to do, exactly? Normally all disks would be managed by unRaid, it's an extremely edge case where you would want to present a hardware RAID array to unRaid as a disk, and I can't think of any reason to assign a 28TB volume, as you would not be able to use any of the space right now. The parity volume must be the largest or equal to any of the data volumes, so until you have 28TB data volumes, the extra space would be wasted.

Perhaps a thorough read of what unraid is and isn't is needed here.
