December 22, 20169 yr hey folks, So i'm running the latest version of unraid on a comcast network. i only run plex and transmission containers. I have port forwarded the plex ports on my airport so that i can remote in - they have a baked in remote access feature so that's all set. However, I would love to be able to remote into my transmission via a web gui (to be clear i'm talking about when i'm not on my home network). Because I'm on a dynamic IP and because I do not want to remote into the unraid GUI, I'm not entirely sure what the best approach is to get this particular feature. Does anyone have any advice or good guides they'd recommend? I'd run OpenDNS to dynamically update the IP but to the best of my knowledge - there isn't a version for unraid.
December 22, 20169 yr Community Expert There are DuckDNS and openVPN dockers. If you have another PC always on Teamviewer will let you remote control it.
December 22, 20169 yr Most decent routers have VPN facilities. Personally I don't have any external ports forwarded to UnRaid and I do everything by connecting into my home network using OpenVPN. I previously had an OpenVPN server set up on my ASUS router and now have one set up in pfSense.

Awesome. i've got an airport extreme so i think i'll just have to run something on my server instead of my router. (unless you know an easy way to do it on an Airport without a second piece of hardware). :-)
