What should I do with the disk? Its out of warranty.

not good. do you have a smart report for this drive? also diagnostics file from tools > diagnostics.  i don't know how to read them but i'm sure many other people smarter than me can check it.

That disk is a goner.

If you can, please post your log (go to /Tools > Preclear, Enable Help on the Menu bar, then click the Download Log button). Apparently you hit a but there too.
