Redundant Cache Drive

Featured Replies

Does the 2nd cache drive option with unRaid work as a Raid 0 or a Raid 1?  I just lost a cache drive and thinking about getting 2 drives to replace.  Should I use the Cache1/Cache2 option in unRaid, or setup a raid 1 via the BIOS or via unRaid (or is that what it does?)?

Neither... Its not raid.. Basically having two drives will get you the storage capacity of the smaller of the two, the filesystem will make sure each file is on both drives.. Its also not limited to two.. I have 4 SSD's in a BTRFS cache pool.. Each SSD is 250GB giving me 500GB in the cache pool..

Default for btrfs cache pool is raid1. See FAQ for unRAID V6 stickied at the top of this very subforum.
