[solved] No networking

Featured Replies

unRAID 6.0.1

Been working fine for many many months, last night noticed 1 of the 4 data drives had a red x and was off-line, no biggy I'll just buy a new one and replace. To check things further I cleaning stopped unRAID and  powered of the server, as I wanted to check cables and what not, all looked ok, but I took the faulty drive out and tested separately with the manufactures diagnostic (it's a WD Green and was getting old), SMART showed no warnings and it passed the quick test, but fails the long test - so I purchase a new drive.

Now, I decide to reboot the server with the drive missing, and this is where it gets weird, I now have no network connectivity. I can login into the console, but cannot ping a thing, or ping it from another machine. The console displays the correct IP and route during boot, and ifconfig -a shows all ok, except not a single packet has gone any where. lspci shows the Intel Pro Server adapter as being present, but to be sure I've swapped the card out with another and it makes no difference, all swapped out network cables.

Any help appreciated.

From the console:

diagnostics

and post the file stored on the flash drive (logs folder)

Wow, thanks for the quick reply.

I got it fixed, I checked the BIOS settings and for whatever reason, after the reboot, it had re-enabled the built-in LAN port, I disabled it again and I'm good to go.
