I am getting a Supermicro server soon with 36 drive slots. Their tech support has been great and has told me that my SUPERMICRO AOC-SAS2LP-MV8 when connected to the front and rear backplane, can drive all 36 drives? They supplied a diagram on how to connect it using SFF-8087 to SFF-8087 cables. Does that sound right?

    Without the actually part/model number, can only guess, probably has SAS expanders built-in.

    Yes he did mention that the backplane has an expander built into it, so I guess that makes it work?
