Point Tom to this thread.... let him know panic is not a good thing. I would like to suggest requiring an additional confirmation prior to formatting. That does not seem too onerous in this case. Display additional warnings of the loss of data, and that reiserfsck --rebuild-tree may be required to salvage data afterward if they proceed (and it isn't guaranteed!). Simple button clicks are too easy. Risky actions should either require 'informed consent', or have an Undo option available (not possible here).
