ZataH
I am using binhex/rtorrentvpn container, I know he has build in a killswitch, but I wanted to be sure it always ran on VPN. Therefor I created a script, that will check what public IP the container is running on. If it gives the wrong IP, of if any variables shows empty values, it will stop the container + send a email A guy on reddit wanted me to post it, so I thought maybe you guys on the forum wanted it too. I am no expert at linux scripting, still learning. Maybe it could have been made in a smarter way, but it works https://github.com/ZataH/rtorrentvpncheck Quote Link to comment
DazedAndConfused
I don't really see the point of this when the Docker already runs a check to make sure it is still connected to the VPN server. Do you not trust it? Binhex has been doing this for a while now. I trust that he knows what he's doing. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
<shrug> Security is a funny business. Trust but verify. More vigilant eyes on the process is a good thing. I'm absolutely positive Binhex welcomes the scrutiny and extra effort, after all, he's not infallible, so if something slips by, better to catch it sooner rather than later. Quote Link to comment

And there is nothing wrong, with a extra layer of security Quote Link to comment
