[SOLVED] Cant get USB flash to boot UNRAID

Recommended Posts

Just found in the upgrade help to move from v5 to v6 this command

# grep --color lm /proc/cpuinfo

flags          : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss tm pbe nx lm constant_tsc up arch_perfmon pebs bts aperfmperf pni dtes64 monitor ds_cpl tm2 ssse3 cx16 xtpr pdcm lahf_lm dtherm

which implies that my cpu is NOT 64 bit capable and hence why I couldn't get the USB stick to work.

My other server shows the required "lm" expected in the cpuinfo output

# grep --color lm /proc/cpuinfo

flags          : fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 clflush mmx fxsr sse sse2 ht syscall nx mmxext fxsr_opt pdpe1gb rdtscp lm 3dnowext 3dnow constant_tsc nonstop_tsc extd_apicid aperfmperf pni monitor cx16 popcnt lahf_lm cmp_legacy svm extapic cr8_legacy abm sse4a misalignsse 3dnowprefetch osvw ibs skinit wdt arat hw_pstate npt lbrv svm_lock nrip_save pausefilter
