January 16, 20179 yr Hi All, I have been having to constantly reboot my server almost every week, not sure what the issue is, from a quick look at the log (i'm not an expert) it seems like its a memory issue - log attached. Jan 15 04:33:12 Tower kernel: Out of memory: Kill process 30055 (java) score 312 or sacrifice child Is that true? I have 8 GB installed but my Crashplan backup docker uses a substantial chuck of that I think, is that bottle necking the other plugins/apps? All help is welcome and TIA. Abhi unRaid_Log_011617.txt
January 16, 20179 yr It means you're running out of memory. unRAID doesn't use swap space (virtual memory). You could add more if you need to run memory hungry apps.
January 16, 20179 yr That is why I stopped using crashplan. As your file count grows, it keeps sucking up more memory. One solution is to severely limit the crashplan files to backup. Crashplan doesn't scale well. via Tapatalk

That is what I thought - is there a cap to the max memory I could use within unRaid now (64 bit), or will it use all that I can throw at it restricted only by hardware limitations?

What are you using instead of Crashplan to achieve that functionality now - please share. Also does that mean that even if I increase the memory to say 16GB I might still have this issue?

It will use everything that you can put in the MB. However, you can reserve memory for use by VM's and that will not be available to the basic unRAID system. (Personally, with your processor and MB, I would add a couple of 8GB memory modules to your present configuration. Think of it as a future-proofing step...) About the Crashplan memory requirements, you should probably pose that question in the support thread for that Plugin.
