unMENU 1.5 ... now available for download.

Recommended Posts

Just updated to latest UnMenu and UnRaid 4.7. I can get the Main first screen to come up in UnMenu but it I try to go to MyMain or anything else I get the message "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Well I thought I had this solved, I completely erases the unmenu folder and started over. UnMenu seems to work fine for a couple of days, now I am getting the same thing again. Right now I can get into the main page, but the bottom 1/2 says it can't be displayed, I think that show the last part of the syslog? I can't get into MyMain or anything else.

I asked unmenu to check for updates and it found:

Available files on current release list:

dynamic-dns-unmenu-package.conf :Revision: 242  Date: 2011-08-06 10:34:39 -0400 (Sat, 06 Aug 2011)

myMain_local.conf :Revision: 182  Date: 2010-12-04 08:15:52 -0500 (Sat, 04 Dec 2010)

I asked it to install and it spit this out:

Downloading myMain_local.conf

rev $Revision: 182 $ $Date: 2010-12-04 08:15:52 -0500 (Sat, 04 Dec 2010)$

Local myMain_local.conf file exists, /tmp/unmenu_tmp/myMain_local.conf not installed.  You will need to delete the local file first before the new will be installed.

Is this correct? I used the config/edit and looked in myMain_local.conf and saw that it contained all of my drive info (serial numbers, etc.).

Am I supposed to delete the file and then copy/paste all of my drive information back in?

It is normal for myMain_local.conf to NOT update. It contains all of your myMain configurations including view customizations and drive settings. MyMain_local.conf should only be installed on first install of unmenu.  You should not delete it unless you want it to forget all your settings.

Thanks for verifying I can just ignore it.

New user here. I'm running v5 beta12 with latest unmenu Version 1.5 Revision: 241.

I have the same problem as reported by a user a while back.

1) The iframe on the "unRAID Main" is empty. I checked and it refers to "http://Tower/main.htm" which indeed cannot be found. the unraid menu itself doesn't use this url. It uses plain "http://Tower/Main" which does display.

2) The unRAID version button on the user scripts page does not return anything.

3) [solved] The smart history section did not seem to work. I searched and appeared there is not an unmenu package for this. I manually extracted the download from here and put it in /boot/smarthistory and it seems to work now.

Hi Guys,

I am a bit of a n00b at this so bare with me.

I have installed unmenu on my new UNRAID 5.0beta12 and the installer script seems to work fine (after some problems with the gateway and dns)

But when i try and run the command (no quotes) "./uu" i just get a new lined returned.

I have then tried to go the the http://tower (or name of my server)/ page and I get the standard menu.

i did a bit of reading and noticed that other people have been having DNS issues so i added the

MyHost=192.168.xx.xx

unRAIDHost = 192.168.xx.xx

(where xx.xx is the ip of the box)

I have restarted the array after each of these and ran the ./uu but with still no luck.

Am i missing somthing simple here?

Ok i did a bit of digging in the unmenu.conf file and found that the base page to load is Http://"myhost":"myport".

So I tried all teh combinations, ie http://192.168.xx.xx and http://"myhost" (where xx.xx and "my host" are my ip and host set in the unmenu.conf file.)

but i am still getting nothing returing from that address.

Anything else i can check?

Anybody who can tell if it is possible to solve the first 2 problems mentioned in my previous post?

- How to change the url for the iframe in "unRAID Main" to "http://tower/Main" because it now doesn't work.

- How to get the version check button working on user scripts.

A fix for both above still couldn't be found by searching on the forums or wiki. So I did some digging in files on the usb flash and found the solution to both. So for anybody who wants it solved;

How to get the unraid webmenu displayed in the unmenu "unRAID Main" link.

Edit the following file: /boot/unmenu/999-unmenu-unraid_main.awk

Replace the string /main.htm\ with /Main\ (with beta12 it is at line 27)

How to get the "unRAID Version" button working on unmenu "User Scripts" link.

Edit the following file: /boot/unmenu/100-unmenu_user_script_unraid_version

Replace the string /usr/local/sbin/emhttp with /etc/unraid-version (with beta12 it is at line 4)

Solved...

------- end

This is from the system log, i was playing around with the ./uu command and noticed that it was say above. Not surprising as i had allready run teh command ./uu command. But what did surprise me is that this log is DIRECTLY after a reboot.

After another reboot (just to be sure) i am still not able to get to unmenu on either http://tower:90 or :8080

Also i checked the syslog and there are no errors

So not really sure what to do now.

The error message

local port 90^M invalid

seems to indicate you have a MS-DOS style Carriage-Return character at the end of the line where you defined your port 90.  The file must have only "newline" characters, not carriage-return/newline pairs.

The two lines you tried to add need to go in the unmenu_local.conf file, not in the "go" file.

Fix the file... using an editor that does not add carriage returns, then kill the unMENU process with

killall awk

and re-start it.

These should now be fixed in the official release.  Use the check-for-updates button on the user-scripts page to get the updated versions.

Something on your LAN is probing port 8080 and is not issuing a valid GET or POST command.

Would it be possible to add the cache drive to the file browser list?

You can do that yourself...

in your

/boot/unmenu/unmenu_local.conf file, add a series of lines like this:

ALLOWED_FOLDER = /mnt/user

ALLOWED_FOLDER = /mnt/disk1

ALLOWED_FOLDER = /mnt/disk2

etc...

and add one more as

ALLOWER_FOLDER = /mnt/cache

If /boot/unmenu_local.conf does not exist, you can either create it using "mc" (or any editor that does not put carriage returns at the ends of lines) or, you can copy the existing unmenu.conf to it and then add the lines.

User Scripts question:

How do I create two buttons, one to "kill mysqld" and another to "cache_dirs -q"

I made two copies of the "Hello World" button and replaced the line which writes that to the screen with the two lines above, but it didn't seem to work. I also tried to have if say what it was doing but nothing shows up.

Need to kill mysql when trying to stop array otherwise that disk is unmounting for a long time. Also found that while pre-clearing a disk, when in the zeroing stage, cache_dirs kicks in during the whole process.

thanks

Look at some of the buttons that stop and start processes.  Like my Tranmission, SAB, SickBeard, CP, etc.

first, they are shell scripts... so use an editor that does NOT add ms-dos style carriage returns.

second, use the full path to the execuitable.  Cache_dirs might not be in the search path.
