Joe L.
It is in there already, on the user-scripts page. The button will show itself if unmenu_install is in the unmenu directory with all the other files. The button actually first executes unmenu_install -c to check if you are current or not, if not, it changes the wording on the button from Check for Updates to Install Updates. Joe, just tried pressing the Update button and got: ./10-unmenu_user_script_update_unmenu: line 6: unmenu_install: command not found in line 6: Put in that script the full path to unmenu_install, i.e. call to /boot/unmenu/unmenu_install and it worked like a champ. Or at least ./unmenu_insall Just to let you know... Thanks... I did not think that button would even be visible, but it would if you just installed. I added current directory to the $PATH. I'll upload new buttons shortly. Joe L. Quote Link to comment
peter_sm
Joe, I have moved my packages & unmenu folder from my USB and created new folders then I put unmenu_install to unmenu folder. Then I run the install, after I started the unmenu and clicked on Package Manage I got this .... No Packages defined in package configuration file(s) EDIT 2 When I run the installation file, I tested to copy all files from /tmp/unmenu_tmp/ to unmenu folder, then the Package Manager are OK :-) But still same problem when adding my own values to the mail packages ... //Peter EDIT After a reboot I don't have the 2 new button to check new version and install these ?? BUT when I run killall awk & then start unmenu again with uu, the I have these 2 buttons , strange... My line in the go files is this /boot/unmenu/uu But no luck to add in my own values for the mail packages Quote Link to comment

Joe L.
I moved my old installation of unmenu to a different folder. I then created a brand new unmenu directory with mkdir /boot/unmenu I then downloaded and unzipped the unmenu_install program to there from google code from here: http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/files/unmenu_install13.zip I then typed: cd /boot/unmenu unmenu_install -i -d /boot/unmenu Since the directory was completely empty, it prompted me to use the "-d directory" option in addition to the "-i" option. Once the files were downloaded, I typed ./uu and I was up and running. At one point earlier I had uploaded a release_list without the packages. Give it a try again. Joe L. Quote Link to comment

Joe L.
Let me take a look. The log you posted really helps me. The files were downloaded to /tmp/unmenu_tmp/ From what you've shown, the md5 checksum did not match that expected, so the .conf files were not installed. I'll try to reproduce. I'm sure it is something I did not do properly. In the interim, I'll bet all the unmenu-package.conf files are in /tmp/unmenu_tmp on your server. You can move them to your /boot/packages directory. In the meantime, what do you get with this "grep" command (cd to the directory with the unmenu_install command first): cd /boot/unmenu grep Revision unmenu_install Joe L. Quote Link to comment

Joe L.
I've identified the cause... the MD5 Checksum in the release_list is without the #UNMENU_RELEASE line of the .conf file, as we really don't care about the top line if the remainder of the file is identical. (The $UMENU_RELEASE line is the one with the key-words used by SVN for the revision) Unfortunately, the unmenu_install program is not currently calculating the md5 checksum without that top line. It will once I code it properly. Thanks everyone... Please wait. I either need to include it in the checksum in both places, or exclude it in both... but not handle it differently in one vs. the other. Joe L. Quote Link to comment

Joe L.
Thanks for your help Joe Let's try with a corrected (I hope) version Download once more from google code http://unraid-unmenu.googlecode.com/files/unmenu_install131.zip then, unzip, put in unmenu directory as before, and try once again with (if completelly new) unmenu_install -i -d /boot/unmenu or to check for changes unmenu_install -c or to install the updates unmenu_install -u Joe L. Joe L.
Joe! It looks like it work now And the mail configuration is also OK now Thanks for a great work Joe! There should be a lot of packages now listed. Many will not be of interest to a great majority, but others will. I'm glad the mail configuration is now working and holding the configuration values you've set. Do you now see the "Check for Updates" button in the user-scripts page also, there is a "Go to Sleep" button. It should be showing for you if your MB supports S3 sleep. On the uers-scripts page I added a "send test e-mail" button to send a test e-mail to the root user. It will help to ensure you've got things set correctly. Let me know of any other oddities. I know the package-manager is nowhere near perfect, but it is a great way to learn all we need to deal with when installing add-ons. One last thing, if you use unmenu_install to update your installation of unmenu, it puts the old versions of the files in a dated sub-directory in the unmenu folder. In the same way, when you edit a configuration variable in the package manager, it saves your old package.conf file as package.conf.date-time.bak in the /boot/packages folder. Joe L. peter_sm
Ok Joe, Is this something more I'm missing now? Apr 6 21:46:20 Tower unmenu[1626]: smartctl: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory EDIT After a reboot I didn't see the 2 new buttons on the user_script page ? After I kill the unmenu and then started with ./uu then I see these new buttons.... It's late now and I will check more tomorrow, thanks for all Joe Quote Link to comment
Joe L.
Ok Joe, Is this something more I'm missing now? Apr 6 21:46:20 Tower unmenu[1626]: smartctl: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Are you running an older version of unRAID? I thought that library was now included properly. The package-manager file is included to download it and install it. It is listed as cxxlibs-6.0.9-i486.tgz library accidentally left out of unRAID 4.4-beta2 through 4.5beta5 From what I remember, it was omitted in error from unRAID 4.4-beta2 through 4.5-beta5 Quote Link to comment
starcat
Joe, do we have a recent netatalk "package" for unMenu? Purko already packaged the binaries itself, look here: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5184.msg48397#msg48397 Quote Link to comment
