January 20, 20179 yr Looking to downsize my server with 8 or 10 tb disks now. These boards have 10 sata ports so don't have to use an extra sata controller now. Also looking to be able to run vm's which I believe these can do. I haven't bought an intel CPU in 20 years so I am out of touch with them. https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157601 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157544 this one has 2 nics which would be good for the vm's thanks!
January 20, 20179 yr has 10 sata ports It should work fine, but it only has 4 sata ports and 2 m.2 slots.

January 20, 20179 yr Either should work fine, not sure about the 2nd NIC on the extreme4, the Intel works for sure.
January 23, 20179 yr I've had 6 AsRock boards over the past few years, and every one of them has either been DOA, gone faulty after a few days, or just plain unstable. I wouldn't touch another AsRock with yours. Gigabyte or Asus every time now.
January 24, 20179 yr Author Thanks for the info. I believe there were some Asus boards I looked at. I am really open, just want 10 sata ports, 64 gigs of ram and matx board.
