unRAID on WORKGROUP / Clients on DOMAIN - Getting Access Denied Public Share

Featured Replies

HI,

I am trying to set up a new unRAID server but I am getting Access Denied even though my share is public. I have two users, root and a genetic I crated. The server has SMB enables (Workgroup option) but all the client's PC(Windows 7) are on a company domain.

Could this be the reason why I am getting Access Denied on every PC? Do all clients need to be on the same domain? or is there another underlying reason why I can't access my public share?

Thanks in advance, I'm really new to this.

While I have never used Domains, I suspect that you need to goto  'Settings'  >>>  'SMB'  and set the 'Enable SMB:' to "Yes (Active Directory".  You may be given some more setup options at that point.  I have been told that unRAID can not be a Domain Master but it can be integrated into the Domain universe as a functional part of it.  You may have to contact the Administrator of your Network for information to complete the setup.

I actually installed a fresh copy of unRaid and it started working just fine. I think I messed something up during the initial config and I couldn't figure out what.

Either way I ended up adding it to the domain the way you mentioned in your post without any issues the second time around and it's been working great since then...

Thanks Again!
