Recover data from Unraid

Featured Replies

Any idea for the situation I need to recover one hardrive from unRaid?

for example, would I put this hardrive to Linux/Windows OS machine to read the data?

Use a Linux computer.  Assuming there is no problem with the disk, you should be able to access and read the contents of the disk.

BUT before you do that, why don't post exactly what the reason is that you have to be able to read the disk outside of the server?  There are a lot of data recovery tools built into unRAID for disk repair for the file systems that are used by it...

Easiest way is using a ubuntu live pen or similar.

For windows depends on the file system used, there's an reiserfs reader, AFAIK there are no xfs/btrfs readers.

And if you have parity of course the whole point of unRAID is you can recover the disk contents from the array.  ;)
