January 24, 20179 yr Ok I´ll try to explain the issue as good as I can... I have not been using my server for a while and it has been turned off during this time. Yesterday I was going to transfer some files to the server , I booted it up but it doesnt start the way it suppose to. I´ve checked the usb-stick and the indicator for reading seems to flash. The array normally starts automatically, but this time I couldnt hear it reading from the harddrive on start so I tried to navigate to the server in my webbrowser to see if everything has started up. Well, I couldnt connect to it. When I try to connect I just get "Could not connect..." I can in router-interface that it gets an ip. Im running the latest ver. of unraid on my server (specs in sign). So, the server it self seems to boot up. All disks are spinning up, I´ve checked all cables. The thing is that it doesnt start or load unraid-software (?) Any tips/trix to solve this issue? Any info I can try to add to help with troubleshooting? Best regards
January 24, 20179 yr Community Expert Hook up a monitor and keyboard. See if you have a login prompt on the screen. If so login. then type diagnostics at the command line prompt. This will write a diagnostics file to your Flash Drive. (this file will either be in the root of the drive or in the logs folder.) Post this file with your next post. If you don't have login prompt, take a picture of the screen and post it up. Be sure to look at it first on a computer monitor a to verify that everything can be read easily. (If the picture is blurred, out-of-focus or has a flash spot in it, try again until you get a good one!!!)
January 24, 20179 yr Community Expert If you don't see a login prompt, it is possible it scrolled off from other things that were written to the console, so hit Enter and see if it gives you another login prompt.
January 24, 20179 yr Author Thank you for the quick replies! Ok, so I connected my monitor to the server and I get this message: "Failed to load ldlinux.c32 Boot failed: please change disks and press a key to continue" Here is how it looks like:
January 24, 20179 yr Community Expert It appears that you have an issue with your Flash Drive. Pull the Flash drive and run chkdsk on it using a Windows machine. (If you are using an Apple, they have a similar program to do the same thing.)
January 24, 20179 yr (If you are using an Apple, they have a similar program to do the same thing.) It's Disk Utility - in the /Applications/Utilities folder.
January 24, 20179 yr Author Thanks for all the replies/help! I ran a scan and got this message: "C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk J: /f The type of the file system is FAT32. Volume Serial Number is F432-1BAF Windows is verifying files and folders... File and folder verification is complete. Windows has scanned the file system and found no problems. January 24, 20179 yr Community Expert Does it work now? If not you might copy the config folder from it, prepare it from scratch like a new install, then copy the config folder back.
January 24, 20179 yr Author No I get the same message... So the steps are: *Copy config-folder to computer *Format as FAT32 and name it UNRAID *Download unraid from website and copy files to usb-drive *Run "make_bootable.bat" *Then replace the config-folder And does this work even if im downloading an updated version of the OS from what I have on the usb-drive? Sorry for these "newbie" questions... EDIT: Thank you so much for the help! I´ve done as you said (followed the steps I wrote), copied the registration-key and server seems to be up running again! Can´t thank you enough for helping me bring my server back to life!
