unRAID VM / docker and PIA / other VPN services

Featured Replies

I'm a huge noob with VPN so any help is greatly appreciated.

Basically I only want some devices on the network to be behind VPN so can't do a blanket router set up.

I'm considering setting up a VM with VPN connection, e.g. to PIA.

Then I would route traffics of some devices on the network through this dedicated VM by changing the default gateway of said devices to the IP of the VM.

Would that work? Is there any better way e.g. using docker?

Use the DelugeVPN docker and enable PRIVOXY :)

Sorry for the noobie question.

I guess I need to set my browser to use Privoxy as proxy (e.g. 192.168.1.xxx:8118) whenever I need to use VPN (basically leveraging on the docker having OpenVPN)? And not use the proxy if I don't need VPN. Is that right?  :o

Please, anyone, please? :(

If you dont want to do this on your router. Why not just install the PIA client?

Because I have a big household haha. PIA 5-device limit isn't enough.  ;D
