Ok,

I'm about to build my 1st media server and i am stuck as to build a UnRaid server or a MythTV backend server. I currently have 2 HTPC's and i want to be able to stream all my media from one location and i also want to be able to watch and record live tv from both HTPC's. i want UnRaid because of the stability. My 1st thought was to make both my HTPC's MythTV Backends and then record to the UnRaid server. However from my research MythTV and UnRaid dont play nicely together because of NFS.

So now i don't know what too do. Cause i really want UnRaid and i really want a easy way to record live TV to it and only run Linux on my HTPC's.

So is there any other options out there or can people tell me what they do to accomplish this? I think i'm going to end up making both HTPC's MythTV backends and just record to their internal hard drives, but i'll run outta space rather quickly.

Also is UnRaid fast enough to stream HD video files to my HTPC over Ethernet and wifi? I assume it would be since my both my HTPC's dont have any problems streaming media to each other.

Thanks
