Battery backup?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if someone could give me an idea how much power an AVS 10/4 pulls? I want to get a battery backup for my server and don't want to underbuy.  All 10 bays are full.  The parity drive is an 8Tb Seagate, the rest of the drives are 4 Tb seagate. I also have 2x 512Gb SSDs for cache drives.

Tell us more about what your power is like where you live, and what you realistically expect out of your battery backup when the power fails. Desired runtime, connected equipment, etc.

The absolute minimum power for a specific machine is rarely adequate for what people really want to happen when the power goes out.

Not sure what you mean exactly by

The power grid where I live is fairly reliable, but we do have the occasional outage. When we do have an outage, power is usually restored within a few minutes.

Ideally I would like a battery backup that can run for a few minutes (at least 5) when power goes out, really I just don't want it to go down in the event of a small outage. For a longer outage I would like it to be able to gracefully shut down the server. The server will be the only device that is connected to the battery backup.
