Hi my CPU will not throttle down frequency at idle i have a hp dl380 g5

    first thing to check is your bios settings on the server, and power settings in iLo (if you have it.) They may be set to max. perf.

     

    if those are fine, then probably looking at the cpu scaling/governor next? (to see what it is set on)
