March 11, 201016 yr I had a failed WD10EADS (green) drive that I RMA'd wityh Western Digital. Today I received the replacement which is WD10EALS (Blue). I don;t really know anything about these blue drives. I) should I care and 2) Is there anything I can do about it anyways?

I don;t really know anything about these blue drives. I) should I care and 2) Is there anything I can do about it anyways? WD site has a page that describes the Blue version and the Green version. Basically the Blue is a 7200RPM drive while the green is a 5400 RPM drive. The green is a little slower but more power efficient, while the blue is slightly faster but is more power hungry.
March 11, 201016 yr I personally would care. While technically a Blue drive is worth a bit more (because it is faster), I prefer the Green drives for their power savings. So you could either take it up with WD, or just sell the Blue drive and use the proceeds to buy yourself another Green drive (and maybe have a few bucks profit).
