If you don't have a cache drive then it is much simpler to use your SSD as cache than to work with it as an Unassigned Device.

Each user share has a setting which controls whether and how it uses cache. The default setting is to not use cache.

At the upper right of the webUI is a Help button. It is a toggle and when you push it it will stay on until you push it again. While Help is on, each page of the webUI will show explanations for the page.

Change the appdata folder to cache-prefer and run mover and it will move it for you.
