empty /boot dir, need to reboot twice

Featured Replies

UPDATE:  I meant /boot dir, not /flash.

I've built a new unRAID system, and I'm a noob here, so bear with me.  I'm also going from memory here a bit because I haven't tried this lately.  I mainly want to figure out if I have a problem with this flash drive, or if it's a problem with how I'm trying to do this.  (I want to buy a license, but I don't want to tie it to a bad flash drive.)

I'm using a recommended 2GB Sandisk Cruzer micro flash drive.  I can boot from it fine.  I'm running v4.5 with two drives in it, right now with just one of them initialized as a data drive (haven't set up parity yet).

I'm trying to install and configure unmenu now.  I used my Mac's Finder to surf to the Tower and open the unmenu files for editing.  Now as I recall, the directory appears empty from the Mac's Finder window.  I have to reboot the machine twice to get it to come all the way back up.

I know that Mac's like to tuck little hidden files in directories all the time... and I'm wondering if this is somehow a function of using the Finder.  When I surf to the drive using Terminal and telnet, it appears fine.

Thoughts? Experiences?

Thanks!
