trurl
This is after a reboot with autostart disabled, That seems correct. Downloaded the preclear plugin and have just kicked it off Is it letting you preclear the disk? If so that would seem to indicate preclear didn't really consider it part of the array, though I don't know if that is really correct and I doubt preclear has ever been tried in this scenario. And I don't know whether unRAID is going to still want to clear it now that it thinks it should. Can you unassign the disk? Quote Link to comment
Rich
I had to unassign it so that preclear could see it, so although it wasn't actively part of the array yet, it seems like it provisionally was until the clear had completed. Unassignning it had no effect on the array though, so it didnt cause any issues. Quote Link to comment
trurl
Have you started the array without the disk assigned? Quote Link to comment
Rich
Yeah I have, it's unassigned and preclearing as I type. The array displays and functions just as it did before I installed the drive Quote Link to comment
trurl
Sounds good. We'll see how preclear turns out. Quote Link to comment

Rich
After a bit of messing about it looks like those errors may have been due to a dodgy sas cable. Thanks to those that helped. Quote Link to comment
