Hello, I have just started on my first unRAID storage container. I have not too much money to play with so I am using older hardware. Spent some time to make sure that it is all unRAID compatible, with the motherboard seemes to be the closest to being incompatible, but still works.

Motherboard Asus M2NE-SLI nforce 500 4 SATA2 ports.

AMD Athlon X2 6000+ underclocked to 1GHz

2GB DDR800 Ram module

generic Marvell 88SX PCIE controller 4 SATA2 Ports

Intel PRO1000/PT Desktop Adapter PCIE LAN card

Hitachi Desktar 7k2000 2 TB HDDs.

I get 40MB write and 60MB read, and these are probably the numbers people will want to read.

At first I was not sure abou thte motherboard because older nForce boards dont seem to go very well on the Hardware Compatibility page but so far it seems to be working.

If you get a chance check out the Motherboard Rating System and try to get this board to level one (or higher) testing.  There are plenty of examples on the forums on how to go about it!

Let me know when you get it done I will add the board to the Hardware Compatibility Page with a note that it works at level one.
