hey guys

sorry if this has been asked im trying to install UNRAID which is the best version the UNraid os or the unraid os gui mode and both ask for a password and username where do i find those ?

Most of us don't use the GUI mode because our servers just sit in a closet and serve up content to the house.  If you want to have a keyboard and mouse attached to your server, though, the GUI mode can be more helpful than the standard command line UI.

The default user name to log into the console is root and there is no password - leave it blank.

Note though - there isn't a lot that you'll do on the unRAID console.  After you get it booted and sitting at the login prompt the next thing to do is take a computer on your home network and point a browser at your server via name ( http://tower ) or http://serverIPaddress.  Almost all of your administration of your server will be via the Web UI.

Also a very good idea to go ahead and set a password for your unRaid.
