Files within folders renamed "w[w["

Featured Replies

Found about 20-30 folders where the files where renamed to "w[w[" with no extension. The folder name and the underlying files seem fine -- a simple rename fixes the problem.

These are recent additions so I thought it may be something with mover, but logs really don't show anything amiss. Hoping to determine if this is a symptom of a problem.

Any thoughts?

Well, if you haven't rebooted, post up a diagnostic file.  ('Tools'  >>>  'Diagnostics)  The Gurus need some clues that the information inside of the diagnostics file might provide.

Did these filenames have any "special" character? I don't just mean punctuation, but also accented letters or anything that wouldn't normally appear on a US keyboard.
