February 13, 20179 yr Hello all, I am new to this community and currently in my trial attempting to get it all running properly. I have had a lot of help setting my server up through this forum however now it is time for me to get some help if i can please. My server is run on a HP XW8600 with 2x Xeon E5430, 8GB DDR 2 667 buffered ram. Unraid is the latest version i downloaded last week. Active dockers :NZBGET, Couche potato, headphones, Sick Rage, EMBY/Plex. Everything runs OK i do not have an issue until i watch something on the TV(Chronecast) through Plex/Emby I did it first with Plex and then Emby as i was not sure if it was Plex but now I know it is transcoding or something causing my issues. After about 10 minutes of watching a program it freezes on the TV or on PC no matter where i watch it within the APP. (Works fine just watching the file in classic player on PC) Symptoms of Server, 1st time became unresponsive the GUI will not respond just frozen. Telnet was OK. SMB shares go offline. all apps stop. system log goes crazy. Had to hard power down and then parity check to continue 2nd time exactly the same but WEB GUI was responding but when ever i attempt to start a docker i get "Execution error server error" so it is running but i cannot start any dockers. Troubleshooting, I run 2 HP 146 10K SAS drives in my cache pool and with the "BTRFS: error (Device loop0)" errors i am getting on the server monitor is there an issue with my cache pool? is transcoding causing issues with these drives? should i move appdata and system onto the array as they are set to "preferred" at the moment(only things on the cache is appdata and system) Log file why does it spam "tower kernal: mptbase: ioc0: warning - issuing reset from mpt_config!!, doorbell-0x2400000" I have no idea what this means? see screenshot my entire log is full of this after the crash. resolution, Do I attempt to run without cache pool? (transcodin on cache issue) Images are here : Could only upload 1 as per the 320KB maximum Any help will be gratefully appreciated
February 13, 20179 yr Community Expert "BTRFS: error (Device loop0)" errors i am getting on the server monitor is there an issue with my cache pool? This means there are problems with the docker image, you should delete and re-create.
February 13, 20179 yr Author "BTRFS: error (Device loop0)" errors i am getting on the server monitor is there an issue with my cache pool? Thanks for the reply johnnie.black I am not sure which docker it is causing this as the system runs fine until i run Plex or Emby and watch something. saying that at the same time my NZBGET is downloading at 6MB/s so not sure if it is bottle necking the connection. I will look into this when i get home.
February 13, 20179 yr Community Expert The problem is the docker image, not a specific docker, see here how to delete and re-create, docker settings won't be lost: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=38323
February 13, 20179 yr Author Apologies johnnie.black i miss understood you. I will do this when i get home. Any idea why I then get this in my log? "tower kernal: mptbase: ioc0: warning - issuing reset from mpt_config!!, doorbell-0x2400000" Not sure if the 2 were related but hopefully recreating the docker image it will get rid of the one problem
February 13, 20179 yr Community Expert Any idea why I then get this in my log? "tower kernal: mptbase: ioc0: warning - issuing reset from mpt_config!!, doorbell-0x2400000" Sorry, no idea.
February 13, 20179 yr Author Did a lot of digging and it would appear my "tower kernal: mptbase: ioc0: warning - issuing reset from mpt_config!!, doorbell-0x2400000" is pointing to my SAS drive or SAS controller as my motherboard has 2 chip sets on it with 14 SATA slots so i am going to remove the SAS drives and run nothing on the SAS controller and see what happens. Currently the SAS drives run my cache so i will do the mover to get all my stuff off the cash and go from there. I will report back tonight
